I've been trying to read a Proverb a day for a little over a year now, and I've been noticing some reoccurring themes that I am beginning to study. I noticed there are some really strong statements about how a fool behaves, and how a wise person behaves. I wondered what God's definition of a fool/wise person was. I wondered which one I acted more like. Obviously, I hope to be wise, to live as one who is wise, so in (the many) areas where I have fallen short I go to the Refiner, my Redeemer, my Strength, the One Who Saves, and we have been working on these things together.
I journal about what the Holy Spirit shows me, about what parts convict me/bother me, and it has really shaped my prayer life. If you have time to write down some thoughts/prayers I encourage you to do so!
Since "all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work"( 2 Timothy 3:16-17) view these "definitions" as a test, as a training session. How are you doing?
